Dungeon Crawler Proof of concept Final
A downloadable game for Windows
See https://0x72.itch.io/16x16-dungeon-tileset for tileset. Used as temporary art assets.
Controls are:
WASD,
left click draws your sword move your mouse to swing it,
Right click draws your shield move your mouse to angle it,
Esc quits the game.
This is where I am settling with my combat test.
A seperate game to build on these ideas will come at some stage in the future but I will leave this as it is, as it's a functional arena mini game. Most I will do to this in the future is add controller support.
Watch this space though I have loads more games to make.
Tips: you will only knock back enemies if you swing your sword, but doing so is slow compared to thrusting by simply clicking in a direction, you will need to work out how to manage each enemy individually.
Flames: Have several points of HP but no disjointed attacks, managing thier chaotic movement is your best approach. Strafing and forcing them to orbit you whilst using your sword to increase the speed of thier orbit allows you to keep out of range.
Skeletons: they are the most fragile of the enemies you face, keep your shield up when they are about to throw and use a quick thrust rather than swinging at them as they should go down in a single hit.
Ogres: Ogres have a large fast disjointed hitbox when they swing thier hammer but they are slow. Skeletons will help you take these enemies out if you must attack them yourself make sure to attack one of thier corners as this will give you the best reach.
